Even today, tuberculosis in childhood is a disease that often undiagnosed and undertreated. In the absence of therapy with antituberculosis drugs, children first years life have high degree severe forms mortality. these children, symptoms are not very specific can easily be confused other diseases bacterial, viral or fungal etiology, making diagnosis more difficult. Nevertheless, introduction new diagnostic techniques has allowed rapid identification infection. Indeed, Interferon gamma release assay (IGRA) preferred to Mantoux, albeit obvious limitations aged <2 years. While Xpert Mtb/RIF Ultra test recommended as an initial investigation gastric aspirate and/or stools signs pulmonary tuberculosis. The drugs used treatment susceptible resistant TB same those adults but doses combinations different pediatric age. brief preferable both latent infection active disease, significant reduction side effects obtained.
